Key Responsibilities
You will be the right hand to the Operations Manager, taking ownership of daily team leadership and operational excellence.
- Recruit, train, coach, and performance-manage a team of frontline staff. Complete staff rosters efficiently and handle disciplinary matters when necessary.
- Administer training and actively monitor the team to ensure strict adherence to all documented safe work procedures and company policies.
- Support the day-to-day running of the trolley, locker, and massage chair services, ensuring high standards of presentation and availability for passengers.
- Ensure all team members meet airport security requirements, hold necessary clearances, and communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
We are looking for a hands-on leader with the drive and credentials to work in a secure airport environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory, team lead, or assistant management role, ideally in retail, hospitality, aviation, or a fast-paced service environment.
- A current Full New Zealand Driver’s Licence and the ability to pass the airport’s security and airside driving assessments.
- The right to live and work in New Zealand and the ability to obtain a clear Airport ID card (requires a clear criminal record).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team and enforce standards fairly and consistently.
- Physical fitness for active work, flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm, including weekends and holidays.
