Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you’ll handle a variety of tasks that keep the post office running smoothly and ensure every customer leaves satisfied.
- Provide friendly and efficient counter service, selling stamps, postal products, and services to customers from the public and local businesses.
- Sort, distribute, and organize incoming and outgoing mail accurately into the correct classifications and prepare it for delivery.
- Offer clear information and assistance to customers, helping them complete forms and choose the best postal options for their needs.
- Address and help resolve any customer questions or service issues thoroughly, ensuring problems are fixed promptly and correctly.
- Handle cash transactions responsibly and maintain an orderly, secure work area.
Qualifications
We are looking for a dependable individual who is a natural helper and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
- A high school diploma or provincial equivalency is required; experience in business administration, retail, or customer service is a strong asset.
- Experience interacting with the public in a service or sales role, including handling cash transactions.
- You must be physically fit to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, sort mail while standing for extended periods, and manage light manual tasks.
- The flexibility to be available for on-call, part-time work as needed, often with varying schedules. Preference is given to candidates who reside within the local community.
- A positive, solution-oriented attitude and a commitment to providing respectful and trustworthy service to every customer.
