Key Responsibilities
As an Operations Officer, you will be at the heart of our service delivery, ensuring accurate and fair processing of long service leave entitlements.
- Review and assess long service leave claims for construction industry workers, making informed determinations on eligibility based on legislation.
- Accurately calculate the amounts to be paid to entitled workers, ensuring every detail is correct.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with a diverse range of stakeholders—including workers, employers, and industry bodies—via phone, email, and in person.
- Interpret and apply the relevant Long Service Leave legislation, policies, and procedures to make consistent and compliant decisions.
- Prioritise a varied workload, manage your time efficiently, and maintain meticulous data management and record-keeping practices.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who combine strong technical skills with excellent judgement and communication abilities.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with proven experience in providing clear advice and engaging effectively with people at all levels.
- Well-developed conceptual and analytical skills, coupled with experience in interpreting legislation, policies, or complex procedures.
- Exceptional attention to detail and proven accuracy in data management and proofreading tasks.
- The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and maintain a high standard of work in a process-driven environment.
- To be eligible for a permanent appointment, you must have Australian citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency.
