Key Responsibilities

As the backbone of our yard logistics, you will ensure equipment is positioned correctly and efficiently. Your core duties will include:

  • Safely and expertly maneuvering semi-trailers and various equipment within the yard and workshop bays using a shunt truck.
  • Welcoming customers and positioning their vehicles accurately for service or repair.
  • Conducting pre-trip inspections on equipment as needed and performing return inspections.
  • Assisting our technicians and contributing to overall shop cleanliness and organization.
  • Performing regular inventory checks to maintain accurate tracking of trailers and equipment in the yard.

Qualifications

To excel in this specialized role, you will need:

  • A valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clear Driver’s Abstract.
  • A minimum of 1 year of verifiable shunt driving experience.
  • Experience operating Capacity or Ottawa-style shunt trucks is a strong asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills, patience, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment.
  • A strong safety mindset and attention to detail.
