Key Responsibilities
As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of your vehicle in line with our service standards.
- Safely operate your own compliant truck to complete scheduled waste collection or delivery runs in the Bairnsdale and surrounding Gippsland region.
- Manage all aspects of your vehicle, including daily safety checks, maintenance, cleanliness, and ensuring it meets all regulatory standards.
- Provide professional service to customers and the public, representing Cleanaway positively at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety laws, chain of responsibility regulations, and site-specific safety and environmental procedures.
- Complete all necessary electronic or paper-based documentation for runs accurately and on time.
- Work collaboratively with our depot team to coordinate schedules and communicate any operational issues.
Qualifications
This partnership requires you to bring your own business and assets to the table.
- Must be a registered Owner Operator with a compliant, insured, and well-maintained truck suitable for waste collection or specified transport.
- A current, relevant heavy vehicle driver’s licence (typically MR or HR, depending on the vehicle).
- A strong safety mindset and proven experience in truck operation, preferably within the waste, logistics, or transport industry.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
- All necessary business registrations (e.g., ABN, GST) and a commitment to meeting all tax and legal obligations as a contractor.
- A willingness to undergo and pass standard pre-contract checks, including a driving history review.
