 Key Responsibilities
You will be a key operator in our linen processing chain, with duties focused on quality and accuracy. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Accurately counting, sorting, and processing all incoming and outgoing linen according to strict standard operating procedures.
- Operating industrial laundry machinery, such as washers, dryers, and ironers, safely and efficiently to process linen batches.
- Performing meticulous quality checks on all processed linen, ensuring it is dry, soft, unstained, and meets our professional standards before distribution.
- Maintaining precise records of linen quantities in registers and on standard templates to ensure accurate stock management and traceability.
- Performing basic sewing and mending of linen to repair small damages and extend the life of each item.
- Upholding excellent housekeeping standards in your work area, managing waste disposal properly, and adhering to all health and safety regulations at all times.
- Communicating effectively with line management and team members to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues promptly.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who combines the right credentials with a professional attitude:
- A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- A valid Code 10 Driver’s License; a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) is a prerequisite for this role.
- Proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading, and writing English to follow procedures and maintain records accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to count accurately and maintain precise numerical records.
- Practical skill in sewing and mending fabrics is required.
- The ability to work flexible hours, adapt to a fast-paced environment, and perform efficiently under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a neat personal appearance, and a commitment to high standards of personal hygiene.
