They have a mobile fleet of oversized and versatile chippers, grinders, and excavators, covering everything from tree removal and shelter belt removal to orchard and land clearing, and wood and green waste chipping and grinding. We’re looking for an experienced Excavator Operator to join their small, dedicated team.

About the Role
This is a varied and hands-on role, mainly based in the Western Bay of Plenty but occasionally requiring out-of-town work. You’ll be working within a small team, operating an excavator with shear knife and grapple, and you’ll also need to be competent on a chainsaw. This work requires a high level of attention to safety, communication, and operational detail. Duties Include
- Shelter belt removal.
- Land clearing.
- Woodlots.
- Perform daily pre-start safety checks and follow site SOPs.
- Following safety protocols and recognizing and managing site hazards.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in felling and mechanized felling.
- Strong safety mindset with the ability to follow set procedures.
- A positive approach towards teamwork.
- Comfortable in a physically demanding, outdoor environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Forestry operations level 3 or 4 ideally.
- An ability to work to deadlines.
- Valid driver’s license.
