Domestic Assistant Required In Australia

Mercy Health is looking for Domestic Assistants to join our Home Care team in Canberra. This is a casual role with flexible hours, where you’ll provide domestic assistance to clients who want to keep living independently in their own homes. You’ll help with cleaning and laundry duties, making sure their living spaces are safe, comfortable, and welcoming. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing domestic assistance to Home Care clients: You’ll help with cleaning and laundry duties, making sure clients’ homes are safe, tidy, and comfortable.
  • Supporting independence: Your work helps clients stay in their own homes longer, living with dignity and autonomy.
  • Building connections: You’ll get to know your clients and their individual needs, adapting your approach to what works best for them.
  • Working flexibly: Hours are flexible, and you’ll have ongoing support from a dedicated service team.
  • Communicating with the team: You’ll stay in touch with coordinators and supervisors to make sure clients’ needs are being met.

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliability and resilience. You show up when you say you will, and you handle challenges with a level head.
  • A genuine passion for helping others. You’re not just doing a job you’re making a difference in people’s lives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills. You connect with clients and earn their trust.
  • Time management and organisational skills. You can manage your schedule and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • A current Driver’s Licence. You’ll need to travel to clients’ homes.
  • Good communication skills. You can listen to clients and communicate clearly with the service team.
  • A safe, sensible approach. You understand people’s physical limitations and work in a way that keeps everyone safe.
  • Flexibility and adaptability. Every client is different, and you adjust to meet their individual needs.
  • Certificate III in Home or Aged Care is advantageous but not essential. If you have it, great. If not, we’re still interested in the right person.
  • A current NDIS Workers Screening Check is required.
  • Proof of current influenza vaccination is required.
