Key Responsibilities

  • Documentation Management: Process common brokerage files, including Entry, In-bond, and Importer Security Filing (ISF), ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with regulations.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with all parties involved in the shipment process—customers, vendors, CBP, PGAs, and internal offices—through emails, calls, and messages.
  • Issue Resolution: Review documentation before, during, and after processing to identify and resolve any issues that could delay shipments or result in non-compliance.
  • Regulatory Research: Stay familiar with CBP and PGA general requirements and know how to research for more information when needed.
  • Software Proficiency: Utilize brokerage software to manage files and track shipments, coordinating efforts within the brokerage team and with internal offices.
  • Multitasking: Independently manage and process numerous files in a timely manner, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Adaptability: Adapt to changing industry regulations and procedures, ensuring all work remains compliant with current standards.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other jobs as assigned by management to support the team and business needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinate efforts and communications within the brokerage department and with other internal offices to support overall operational success.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in customs brokerage required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Must have a great attitude and collaborate well with others.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively.
  • Able to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • General knowledge of daily brokerage operations and CBP/PGA requirements.
