The Surgical Evaluation Technician I uses technical and mechanical skills for the incoming and outgoing evaluation of surgical medical instruments within a designated Modality. This role ensures equipment meets quality and safety standards and is prepared for use or shipment.

Responsibilities
- Perform basic incoming and outgoing Quality Control testing of assigned equipment.
- Receive, inspect, evaluate, and test incoming equipment.
- Identify defective or worn parts and equipment not meeting standards.
- Ensure proper operation and standards of outgoing equipment.
- Document all services and testing performed, including all parts needed.
- Maintain work area to meet Visual Work Place (VWP) standards.
- Prepare instruments and equipment for shipping.
- Handle timecard and time-off entry, review, and submission.
- Perform equipment decontamination processes if needed.
- Other tasks as assigned or required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–2 years of experience with repairs preferred but not required.
- Ability to sit, stand, lift, bend, and stoop frequently.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.
- Some cost awareness and performance sensitivity.
- Flexibility in work schedule to meet department needs.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Ability to maintain modality/department standards.
- May be required to obtain certain vaccinations or provide proof of current vaccination status.
