Key Responsibilities
- Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions using GPS and other navigation devices, optimizing fuel efficiency and reducing carbon emissions.
- Perform pre trip, en route, and post trip inspections, overseeing all aspects of vehicle condition including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment where applicable.
- Secure cargo using proper tarping techniques, ensuring safety and load integrity throughout transit.
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch, maintaining clear communication and adapting to schedule updates as needed.
- Maintain professionalism in all customer interactions, representing the company with integrity and reliability.
- Complete all required documentation related to hours of service, trip reports, and cargo manifests accurately.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a valid AZ class license and have two to three years of experience operating tractor trailer equipment, preferably with flatbed experience. A secondary school graduation certificate is required. A clean driving record and a valid driver’s licence validity check are essential, along with a current driving record abstract. You should be proficient in using GPS and other navigation equipment. Strong communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary for effective coordination with dispatch and customers. The ability to work independently while demonstrating sound judgment and attention to detail is critical. Flexibility to work early morning, day, evening, or night shifts as required is expected.
