Fiordland Lobster Company is seeking a reliable full-time Factory Hand to join our team in Te Anau. You will be at the heart of our operation, handling and packing premium live lobster for export. Key Responsibilities
In this essential hands-on role, you will be directly involved in the careful processing of our live product. Your key duties will include:
- Grading, packing, and handling live lobster according to strict quality and size specifications.
- Assisting with the receiving of lobster and maintaining optimal water quality in holding systems.
- Working efficiently within tight timeframes to prepare orders for export.
- Performing general factory duties, including cleaning and maintenance, to ensure impeccable hygiene standards.
- Adhering to all health, safety, and food safety protocols with great diligence.
Qualifications
We are looking for a team player with the right attitude and physical capability. The ideal candidate will have:
- A flexible and reliable nature, with the ability to work early morning starts (as early as 3 am), weekends, and public holidays as required by the season.
- A strong work ethic, good initiative, and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under time pressure.
- Good physical fitness for manual tasks including lifting, moving, and handling heavy items.
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s licence.
- Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.
Previous experience in a process-oriented, assembly, or seafood role is advantageous, but full training will be provided for a candidate with the right mindset and reliability.
