Key Responsibilities
In this hands-on role, you will be immersed in a wide range of civil construction activities with a strong focus on skill development. Your primary duties will evolve as you learn, but will centre on:
- Assisting with and learning various civil construction tasks, including trenching, pit installations, and general on-site construction support.
- Training to operate a variety of machines and trucks of different sizes under the guidance of experienced mentors.
- Contributing to team goals with a proactive mindset, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
- Adapting to a rotational 3-week night shift schedule and being available for occasional travel as project needs require.
- Learning and applying effective time management and beginning to develop delegation and leadership skills.
Qualifications
While specific experience is beneficial, your attitude and willingness to learn are what we value most. The ideal candidate will have:
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a genuine enjoyment of working collaboratively.
- Reliability, strong punctuality, and a commitment to contributing beyond a basic “clock on/clock off” mentality.
- The ability to work harmoniously with different teams and individuals.
- A willingness to learn and adapt, with no prior experience in trenching, spotting, operating, or grundomating required.
- The physical fitness and flexibility to work a rotational night shift schedule and travel occasionally.
