Key Responsibilities
As the Breakfast Cook, you will be the heart of the morning shift, responsible for fueling the camp’s crew for their day. Your core duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking a high-volume, hearty breakfast service for camp residents, ensuring meals are nutritious, tasty, and served on time.
- Planning breakfast menus, managing food inventory for your station, and assisting with ordering as required.
- Adhering to the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen hygiene in accordance with your Food Safe certification and camp protocols.
- Operating and maintaining kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Working collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth service and clean, organized workspace.
- Contributing to a positive and safe camp environment for all staff and residents.
Qualifications
To excel in this remote camp role, you will need specific experience and certifications. The essential requirements are:
- Proven experience in high-volume cooking, preferably in a camp, hotel, restaurant, or institutional setting.
- A valid Food Safe Certificate or equivalent is mandatory.
- The ability to work effectively under pressure during busy morning service periods.
- Reliability, a strong work ethic, and the ability to live and work cohesively in a remote, close-knit camp community for the duration of your rotation.
- Physical fitness to meet the demands of a busy kitchen environment.
