Key Responsibilities
As a Marine Engineer, you will be the key technical interface between the company and its clients, ensuring operational excellence. Your primary duties will include:
- Executing on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine engines and turbochargers on seagoing vessels and at stationary power plants.
- Conducting detailed inspections, performance tests, and condition-based monitoring to diagnose issues and prevent failures.
- Providing expert technical advice and support to customers, ship crew, and port engineers, building strong, trust-based relationships.
- Preparing comprehensive service reports, documentation, and parts lists, ensuring accurate records of work performed and recommendations.
- Staying current with the latest technical manuals, service bulletins, and cutting-edge technologies introduced by the company.
Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified engineer with a solid marine background and outstanding client-facing skills. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field. Relevant marine engineering certifications (e.g., Class 1, 2, or 3 CoC) are a significant advantage.
- Proven hands-on experience in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of large marine diesel engines, preferably with specific brand exposure (e.g., MAN, Wärtsilä, Caterpillar). Experience with turbochargers is essential.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently under pressure in diverse environments (onboard vessels, in shipyards, at power plants).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Cantonese/Mandarin a plus), a strong customer-service orientation, and a willingness to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice.
