Key Responsibilities
Your work will be dynamic and essential, adapting to the needs of the season and the land. Your core duties will include:
- Skillfully operating and maintaining a diverse fleet of farm machinery, including tractors with various implements, sprayers, combines, back-hoes, and ATVs to perform tillage, planting, cultivation, and harvesting.
- Managing comprehensive irrigation systems by laying pipe, setting up equipment, maintaining ditches, operating well motors and pivots, and carefully monitoring field moisture levels to ensure optimal crop health.
- Performing necessary manual labor and upkeep, such as loading seed and chemicals, changing combine heads, conducting general welding repairs, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all farm facilities, equipment, and grounds.
- Handling post-harvest grain operations at our storage facilities, which includes transporting grain, operating augers, monitoring moisture levels, loading/unloading trucks, and preparing necessary documentation.
- Adapting daily tasks as required by changing crop conditions, weather, and farm priorities, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to all assigned general farm functions.
Qualifications
We value practical skill and a strong work ethic. The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven, verifiable experience in the operation and basic maintenance of agricultural tractors and heavy machinery.
- A solid understanding of farm irrigation systems and practices, with hands-on experience in their setup and management.
- The physical stamina and ability to perform demanding manual labor in all types of outdoor weather conditions, including lifting heavy items as needed.
- A keen attention to detail, especially regarding equipment safety, chemical handling, and grain quality control.
- A reliable, team-oriented attitude with the flexibility to switch tasks and locations as the day’s needs require.
- While not always mandatory, a valid driver’s license and any relevant equipment certifications are highly regarded.
