About the Opportunity
This full-time apprenticeship offers comprehensive, hands-on training in all aspects of carpentry for residential construction. You will be working with established companies on projects located throughout Sydney, including the Northern Beaches, North Shore, Hills District, and beyond. You’ll gain invaluable experience in constructing and installing prefabricated frames, working with modern building materials, and contributing to the creation of new homes from the ground up.
Your Role And What You’ll Learn
As an Apprentice Carpenter, you will be an essential part of the construction team, learning the trade through direct, supervised experience. Your responsibilities and learning outcomes will include:
- Assisting qualified carpenters in measuring, cutting, and assembling timber and steel frames for new homes.
- Learning to read and interpret basic building plans and specifications.
- Participating in the installation of prefabricated wall frames, roof trusses, and flooring systems.
- Using and maintaining a wide range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Helping to ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality, safety, and compliance with building codes.
- Gaining experience on job sites across various Sydney suburbs, understanding different site conditions and requirements.
What You Need to Start
We are looking for someone who is keen, reliable, and ready to learn. The essentials are:
- A strong interest in pursuing a career in carpentry and a commitment to completing a full apprenticeship.
- A valid White Card (Construction Induction Card) is essential to work on-site.
- A driver’s licence is highly preferred to travel between job sites across Sydney, but not mandatory if you have reliable alternative transport.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour in various outdoor conditions.
- A positive attitude, willingness to take direction, and a strong focus on safety.
- No prior experience is necessary we provide the training. A genuine enthusiasm for building is what counts.
