About the Role
This is a foundational role perfect for someone new to construction or looking to gain more diverse experience. You will be a crucial support member on our job sites, assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring the smooth flow of materials and site maintenance. We provide full training, so a positive attitude and strong work ethic are more important than prior experience.
Your Key Responsibilities
Your day will be active and varied, contributing directly to the progress of our projects. Key duties include:
- Loading, unloading, and transporting construction materials around the site.
- Assisting carpenters with tasks such as framing walls, erecting structures, and building roofs.
- Performing site cleanup, including removing rubble, debris, and piling salvaged materials.
- Conducting basic maintenance on tools and equipment, and tending to machines as directed.
- Helping to level earth and prepare subgrades to fine specifications.
- Responding to and assisting with the clean-up of spills or other contaminants.
- Performing traffic control duties at or near the construction site to ensure safety.
- Completing pre-operational inspections and following all site safety protocols.
What You Bring
We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and contribute to a team environment. The essentials are:
- A Secondary (High) School graduation certificate or equivalent.
- A strong willingness to learn and follow instructions carefully.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform demanding manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a keen focus on safety.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A valid driver’s license may be beneficial but is not always required.
No prior construction experience is necessary we provide comprehensive training.
