This unique role combines crop production expertise with essential animal husbandry, perfect for someone who is as comfortable operating a combine as they are assisting with herd health. You’ll be instrumental in the full cycle of our operation, from preparing fields and planting to harvesting grains and providing seasonal care for our sheep and cattle. If you value hard work, adaptability, and seeing the direct results of your labor, we welcome your application.

Company Overview

We are a family-run, diversified farm committed to sustainable practices and the well-being of both our crops and our animals. Our philosophy is rooted in respect for the land, ethical animal care, and the belief that a successful farm relies on a skilled, reliable team. We offer a supportive environment where initiative is valued, and your contribution is key to our shared success. Join us in meaningful work that connects you to the vital processes of food and fiber production.

Key Responsibilities

Your work will be crucial to our daily success, with responsibilities spanning our fields, machinery, and livestock. Your key duties will include:

  • Operating and maintaining our full range of farm equipment—including tractors, sprayers, combines, and hauling vehicles to perform all stages of crop work from tillage and planting to harvest and transport.
  • Executing detailed field preparation and maintenance, such as rouging fields, removing rocks and debris, mixing and loading chemicals, changing combine heads, and performing landscape upkeep around farm properties.
  • Conducting skilled manual tasks including welding, general repairs, and organized clean-up of all farm buildings, sheds, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operational environment.
  • Managing post-harvest grain operations: receiving, drying, and storing grain; operating augers and conveyors; monitoring moisture levels; and preparing accurate scale tickets.
  • Providing focused seasonal support for our sheep and cow herds during the summer months, assisting with more frequent handling and health-maintenance procedures to address parasite challenges.
  • Remaining highly adaptable, ready to change duties or locations as needed based on daily priorities, crop conditions, and weather.

We are looking for a dependable individual with a broad skill set. The right candidate will have:

  • Proven, hands-on experience operating and performing basic maintenance on tractors, combines, and other heavy agricultural machinery.

  • Comfort and experience in working safely around livestock (sheep and cows) is strongly preferred.
  • The physical strength and stamina for demanding manual labor in various outdoor conditions, including lifting, shoveling, and using hand tools.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude for basic repairs, welding, and equipment servicing.
  • An exceptional eye for detail, a responsible attitude toward safety, and the flexibility to pivot between tasks seamlessly.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.

We believe in recognizing and investing in our team. This position offers:

  • A competitive hourly wage 14$ , with the potential for pay increases or performance-based bonuses at the discretion of the employer.
