Key Responsibilities
As a General Maintenance Technician, you will be a versatile problem-solver, ensuring the continuous operation of our facility. Your key duties will include:
- Responding promptly to maintenance calls from the Control Center and conducting assigned facility rounds to inspect equipment and systems.
- Performing preventative maintenance schedules, troubleshooting equipment issues, and reporting problems accurately.
- Executing a wide range of general maintenance tasks, including painting, carpentry, and minor steam system repairs.
- Assisting licensed General Services Technicians with complex projects to maintain a patient-oriented environment.
- Preparing stock orders, ensuring maintenance equipment is functional, and maintaining clean, safe work areas.
- Following all hospital infection control, safety procedures, and the RESPECT behavioral standards in every task.
- Utilizing the hospital’s Core Values as the foundation for all decision-making and actions.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with a solid foundation in general maintenance and a commitment to our mission. The requirements are:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Two to three (2-3) years of applicable trades training or apprenticeship.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in general building maintenance, encompassing carpentry, painting, and basic systems repair.
- The ability to troubleshoot problems, work independently, and follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team and alongside licensed professionals.
- A reliable, proactive approach and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient healthcare environment.
