Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will be at the heart of our care team, providing thoughtful support that honours each resident’s individuality and independence.
Your day will involve:
- Providing personalised care and support with daily living activities, always treating residents with the utmost dignity and respect.
- Encouraging residents to make their own choices and maintain their independence, following the empowering Eden principles and Domains of Wellbeing.
- Working collaboratively under the guidance of our Registered Nurses to ensure all resident needs are met effectively and compassionately.
- Building genuine connections with residents, becoming a friendly and trusted face in their day.
- Contributing to a positive, warm, and homely environment for everyone at Huntleigh Home.
Qualifications
We are looking for people with big hearts and a willingness to learn. While experience is valued, a genuine passion for the wellbeing of older people is most important.

- A compassionate, patient, and respectful nature.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
- A willingness to undertake training and gain formal qualifications while you work with our full support.
- Good teamwork skills and a reliable, organised approach.
- Basic computer skills for documentation.
- The legal right to work permanently in New Zealand.
