This is a field-based role working on utility-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects across Canada. You’ll be operating heavy machinery like excavators, bulldozers, graders, telehandlers, loaders, pile drivers, and skid steers helping build the clean energy infrastructure that powers the future. What You’ll Be Doing
- Operating heavy equipment:Â You’ll run excavators, bulldozers, graders, telehandlers, loaders, pile drivers, and skid steers safely and efficiently on renewable energy construction sites.
- Performing site preparation:Â You’ll handle grading, trenching, backfilling, compacting, and other tasks to get sites ready for construction.
- Loading and unloading materials:Â You’ll move materials and equipment in laydown yards and on project sites as needed.
- Conducting daily inspections:Â You’ll check equipment each day and perform basic maintenance to keep everything operational.
- Following site plans and blueprints:Â You’ll work from drawings and supervisor instructions to complete tasks accurately.
- Adhering to safety protocols: You’ll follow Quanta’s Capacity Program, company safety standards, and all regulatory requirements—safety comes first.
- Participating in daily briefings:Â You’ll join safety meetings and report any hazards or incidents immediately.
- Collaborating with the team:Â You’ll work closely with supervisors, foremen, engineers, and laborers to coordinate tasks and keep projects on schedule.
- Communicating effectively:Â Clear communication over radio and in person helps ensure everyone’s aligned on project goals.
- Supporting other team members:Â When needed, you’ll pitch in to help meet project objectives.
What You’ll Need
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment.
- Valid operator certifications and licenses as required by provincial regulations.
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and site plans.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality this is non-negotiable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience working on renewable energy or large-scale infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Canada this is a field-based role.
