Key Responsibilities
Based out of our Leduc branch, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient transport of critical equipment. Your core duties will include:
- Safely operating a Kenworth tractor with specialized lowboy and multi-axle trailers to transport heavy and oversized loads across long distances.
- Navigating cross-border routes between Edmonton, Alberta, and the Permian Basin in West Texas, adhering to all permits, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, performing basic maintenance checks, and proactively reporting any mechanical concerns.
- Safely loading, securing, and unloading equipment, utilizing winches and other tools as required.
- Maintaining detailed electronic logs and using app-based systems for route and compliance management.
- Ensuring the vehicle is kept clean, professionally presented, and refuelled at the end of each trip.
- Representing TOR with the highest degree of professionalism in all customer and border interactions.
Qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled and reliable professional who meets the following essential criteria:
Mandatory Requirements:
- A valid Class 1 driver’s licence with a minimum of 5 years of professional driving experience and a clean driver’s abstract.
- At least 3 years of verifiable cross-border heavy haul experience.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada (Citizen or Permanent Resident) and the legal right to enter the United States for work purposes.
- A current criminal record check in good standing.
- Experience with hydraulic platform trailers and a strong understanding of securing oversized/over-dimensional loads.
- The ability to operate a forklift and maintain a clean-shaven appearance for safety equipment compliance.
Preferred Experience:
- Direct oilfield winch truck operation experience.
- A professional demeanor, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
