Formosa is a small, family-owned Taiwanese dumpling restaurant with locations in Bushwick and Prospect Heights. Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be involved in all aspects of our daily operation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and cooking all dishes from our menu with precision, following recipes and portion guidelines to maintain our authentic taste.
- Assisting with ingredient prep, including chopping vegetables, preparing proteins, and other mise en place tasks.
- Checking and restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients to ensure seamless service.
- Maintaining impeccable cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen, including dishwashing and opening/closing duties.
- Working efficiently during busy rush hours while consistently upholding our high standards for food quality and presentation.
- Strictly adhering to all food safety and sanitation standards.
- Being a supportive team player, open to learning and potentially helping in the front-of-house as needed.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who shares our values and brings a professional attitude to the kitchen. The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous kitchen or food-industry experience with a basic understanding of food preparation and safety.
- A hardworking, fast, and reliable personality this is essential.
- The ability to follow instructions carefully and work effectively within a team structure.
- Honesty, trustworthiness, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Openness to giving and receiving feedback to help us all improve.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure during fast-paced service.
- Great attention to detail and personal pride in the work you deliver.
- A Food Handler Certificate is a plus.
- Must be able to start training and working promptly.

- Average hourly rate of $20 – $26 (Base rate + share of the tip pool).
