Laundry Aide Required In Northwest Territories, Canada

A healthcare facility in Richmond Hill is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join their team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the complete upkeep and smooth functioning of the laundry department, ensuring that patients’ personal clothing and linens are cleaned, sorted, and delivered to the floors in a timely and efficient manner. Working closely with Housekeeping and Patient Care Assistants, you’ll play an essential part in maintaining a clean, comfortable environment for those receiving care. Key Responsibilities

As a Laundry Attendant, you’ll ensure that all laundry is processed to the highest standards and delivered promptly to support patient care.

• Formulate washing formulas for stained and soiled loads of patients’ personal clothing and all other laundry, including linens.
• Sort dirty patient clothes and linen by product type, following established procedures.
• Ensure washing of clothing and linen meets quality standards before placing items into inventory.
• Communicate any maintenance and upkeep issues relating to laundry equipment to the appropriate person promptly.
• Suggest methods for increasing laundry efficiency and improving department operations.
• Organize and sort patients’ clothes and linen by type, loading them onto carts or placing them in bags for return to patient rooms, or storing neatly on linen storage racks.
• Fold clothing, linen, and terry cloth items in a neat, pristine fashion, maintaining a professional presentation.
• Work in a fast-paced environment, meeting time constraints and production deadlines.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude with an outgoing, friendly personality toward all clients and staff.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for someone with physical stamina, attention to detail, and a professional approach to their work.

Education:

• Secondary school diploma is preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Experience:

• Previous laundry or dry cleaning experience is desired, preferably in a clinical or facility setting.

Personal Qualities:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, friendly demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
