Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Machine Operator, you will be a key link between supervisors and operators, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. Your duties will encompass:
- Supporting Shift Supervisors by assisting with daily work assignments, task delegation, and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Training and coaching Operators, assigning mentoring duties, and verifying proper equipment selection and qualification.
- Performing hands-on machine operation as needed and leading by example in all production tasks.
- Implementing and advocating for continuous improvements in production methods, equipment procedures, and workplace safety.
- Assisting with the autonomous maintenance of equipment and troubleshooting process issues.
- Collaborating with Engineering on new product development, including fixture/tooling creation and machine setup/programming.
- Providing critical quality oversight, including establishing criteria for material rejection during processing.
Qualifications
This role requires a proven professional who aligns with our values and meets specific criteria:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
- A High School Diploma, GED, or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
- Must be a “U.S. Person” as defined by ITAR/EAR regulations (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual).
- Demonstrated understanding of production processes, strong mechanical aptitude, and good problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills with the ability to train and lead others effectively.
- A self-starter with good judgment, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to change.
- Working knowledge of MS Office. Lean/Six Sigma training is a plus.
- Physical ability to meet job demands, including prolonged standing/sitting, repetitive movement, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Location: Onsite in Chatsworth, CA.
- Hourly Range: $29.00 – $34.00, depending on experience.
- Schedule: Full-Time.
