Motion Recruitment is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Christchurch, Canterbury. In this role, you’ll be doing bulk earthworks, flood protection banks, retaining walls, and other general excavation duties. You’ll operate a range of heavy machinery up to 30 tonnes, working on some great construction projects across the region. About the Role
This is an awesome opportunity to be part of meaningful construction projects in Christchurch. You’ll work as part of a collaborative team, operating excavators and other heavy machinery to complete tasks on schedule. With regular hours from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM and a company with loads of forward work, you’ll enjoy stability and variety in your role. We’re looking for someone with a keen eye for detail, experience using GPS and final trim, and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Safely operating a range of earthmoving equipment such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Carrying out essential pre-start checks and routine maintenance on the equipment.
- Working collaboratively with the construction team and subcontractors to complete tasks on schedule.
- Providing support and guidance to less experienced operators as required.
- Using GPS and performing final trim to ensure high-quality results.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as an Excavator Operator in the construction industry, with a minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience.
- A valid heavy vehicle driver’s licence.
- Experience using GPS and doing final trim.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to working safely and efficiently.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
