Your Expert Role
As our lead Print and Bindery Operator, you will be the cornerstone of our pressroom operations. Your responsibilities will require a high level of skill and independence:
- Independently set up, operate, and monitor printing and bindery machinery, performing changeovers and managing the entire production run to meet exact specifications.
- Conduct meticulous quality checks throughout the process, collecting data and making precise adjustments to machine settings to maintain the highest quality standards.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and operational problems with minimal assistance, minimizing downtime and ensuring efficiency.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, conduct minor repairs, and assist the maintenance team to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Read and accurately interpret job tickets, project documentation, and safety instructions to ensure procedural compliance.
- Train and mentor newer operators on specific equipment operation and safety protocols, sharing your expertise.
- Maintain impeccable organization by completing machine clearances after each run and adhering to 5-S Lean disciplines for a clean, safe, and efficient workspace.
- Collaborate effectively with graphic designers, press operators, and other team members to understand project goals and deliver exceptional printed materials.

We are looking for a seasoned professional with a proven track record. The ideal candidate will possess:
Required Experience and Skills:
- Significant, hands-on experience as a Print and Bindery Operator in a commercial print environment.
- Proven ability to independently operate machinery, perform full setups, changeovers, and troubleshoot problems without supervision.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the skill to perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs.
- Excellent independent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under production pressure.
- Outstanding attention to detail for quality control and the ability to collect and report precise production data.
- Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced setting.
- Proficiency with machine computer controls and software relevant to print operations.
- A reliable, strong work ethic with dependable job performance and excellent attendance.
- Ability to pass hands-on, on-the-job (OJT) qualification checks after training.
Key Capabilities:
- Understanding of prepress, color management, and print production workflows.
- Ability to read and interpret complex job instructions and meet both internal and external customer expectations.
