Key Responsibilities
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our butchery counter is always impressive and our customers are well looked after. Your core tasks will include:
- Preparing and packaging a variety of meats for sale, ensuring every product is correctly trayed, wrapped, and labelled with care.
- Maintaining impeccable merchandising standards to create an attractive, fresh, and well-stocked display.
- Providing friendly, helpful service to customers, answering their questions and assisting them with their selections.
- Adhering strictly to all Food Safety and Health & Safety policies to ensure a safe environment for both our team and our customers.
- Working collaboratively as a positive and effective member of our butchery team.
- Handling and lifting stock, with items up to 15kg, as part of daily operations.
Qualifications
We’re looking for a reliable team player who brings energy and a strong work ethic.
What You’ll Need:
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for providing great customer service.
- The physical fitness to comfortably perform repetitive tasks and lift items up to 15kg in a chilled environment.
- A reliable, enthusiastic attitude and a keen eye for detail.
- The flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends.
- The legal right to work permanently in New Zealand.
The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys working with the public, thrives in a fast-paced team setting, and is eager to learn and grow within the supermarket industry. Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.
