Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be the face of THL Gourmet Foods on the road. Your primary focus will be ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while providing outstanding service.
- Safely operate a 5-ton straight truck for local Calgary deliveries and occasional day trips to Edmonton.
- Efficiently load and unload products, which includes manual handling (hand-bombing) of goods.
- Deliver orders to our valued restaurant and grocery store customers, verifying accuracy and ensuring their complete satisfaction.
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report any maintenance requirements to keep our fleet safe.
- Manage delivery paperwork, collect signatures for proof of delivery, and handle COD payments professionally.
- Safely use equipment such as lift gates and power jacks to streamline the loading and unloading process.
Qualifications
We are looking for a safety-conscious and customer-oriented individual. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed:
- A valid Class 5 Driver’s License accompanied by a clean driving abstract.
- Proven experience in a delivery or commercial driving role.
- The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and handle the active nature of the job.
- Strong, professional communication and customer service skills.
- Prior experience safely operating a lift gate and power jack.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada and basic proficiency in spoken English.
While not required, it would be a great bonus if you have:
- A minimum of 2 years of specific experience driving a 5-ton truck.
- Familiarity with electric or hand pump jacks.
