Key Responsibilities
As a Facilities Cleaner, you will play a vital role in maintaining the standard and safety of our community spaces. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Performing thorough cleaning and sanitisation of public amenities, including toilets, change rooms, picnic shelters, and park furniture.
- Operating and maintaining small machinery and equipment such as pressure cleaners, footpath sweepers, and electric barbecues to ensure they are in safe working order.
- Conducting regular inspections and carrying out minor repairs and maintenance on playground equipment and council facilities to address wear and tear.
- Working effectively as part of the Parks and Gardens team, communicating any safety concerns, maintenance issues, or supply needs promptly to your supervisor.
- Adhering to all council work health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe environment for yourself and the public.
Qualifications
We are looking for a practical, safety-conscious individual who is ready to contribute from day one.
- A current NSW Class MR Driver’s Licence is essential for this role.
- A valid SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card) is required.
- A First Aid Certificate and the ‘Work Safely near overhead electrical apparatus’ unit of competency are mandatory qualifications.
- While not essential, a NSW School Certificate or equivalent is looked upon favorably.
- Most importantly, you will need a strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to communicate clearly with team members and supervisors.
