Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of wood residual fibre products. Your expertise will be crucial from start to finish.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Safely load and unload wood chip products, securing all freight according to standard procedures.
- Operate manual or automatic tarping systems to protect the load.
- Chain up tires as required by winter road conditions to maintain safety.
- Accurately complete all electronic logs and vehicle status reports using the ISAAC fleet management system.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance issues promptly.
Qualifications
We are looking for a safety-conscious and reliable professional who meets these key requirements:
- A valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with an acceptable commercial driver’s abstract.
- The ability and willingness to work a rotating day/night shift schedule.
- A commitment to safety protocols and the ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.
While not mandatory, candidates with 2 years of trucking experience, particularly with mountain driving and Super-B trailers, will be strongly preferred.
