Key Responsibilities

As a Housekeeper, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the community is clean, tidy, and inviting for all who live and work there.

  • Professionally clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, and bathroom facilities.
  • Perform sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and washing of all surfaces.
  • Move furniture as needed to complete cleaning tasks thoroughly.
  • Collect, wash, iron, and return resident laundry, ensuring items are handled with care.
  • Maintain a tidy linen storage area, keeping linens organized and accessible.
  • Replenish consumable items such as soaps and paper products throughout the community.
  • Spot clean walls, furniture, windows, and sills as needed.
  • Collect and remove trash and debris, following proper disposal procedures.
  • Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention through safe work practices, keeping housekeeping areas tidy.
  • Identify safety concerns through daily walk-throughs and updates from staff and residents.
  • Identify and report any damages to the maintenance team promptly.
  • Be decisive when dealing with difficult or crisis situations, always prioritizing resident safety.
  • Maintain cleaning supply stock, notifying management when reordering is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for someone with cleaning experience, strong organizational skills, and a genuine desire to contribute to a positive living environment for seniors.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum one (1) year of residential or commercial cleaning experience is required.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for interacting with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and problem-solve effectively.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, kneel, and lift over 20 pounds.

Preferred (But Not Essential):

  • Experience in an aging adults setting (senior living, long-term care, etc.).
  • Completion of High School Diploma.
  • Completion of CPR and First Aid certification.
