Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting and wallpapering by cleaning, sanding, and repairing imperfections such as cracks or holes.
- Expertly mix and match paints and stains to achieve the exact colour and texture specified for each project.
- Skillfully apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to both interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.
- Measure, cut, and hang wallpaper and other wall coverings with precision and care.
- Erect and safely work from scaffolding, ladders, and swing stages as required for the job.
- Provide professional advice to clients regarding colour selection and the choice of materials and finishes.
- Assist with estimating project costs and required materials.
Qualifications
What You Bring:
- A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 7 months to 1 year of practical experience in painting, wallpaper installation, or a closely related field.
- A strong willingness to learn, a reliable work ethic, and a keen eye for detail.
- The physical ability to perform manual tasks, work at heights, and handle tools and materials.
- Good communication skills and a professional, client-focused attitude.
- A commitment to following safety procedures on every job site.
