Key Responsibilities

As the Public Safety Coordinator, you will be the strategic leader responsible for safeguarding our community. Your key duties will encompass leadership, innovation, and operational excellence:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the city’s public safety functions, including the oversight and evolution of our fixed and mobile CCTV network and operations.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative crime-prevention initiatives and public safety programs, applying principles like CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design).
  • Foster and manage influential partnerships with internal departments, external agencies, and the community to strengthen collaborative safety outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional public safety services and operational resilience.
  • Navigate complex regulatory, financial, and technical frameworks to manage risk, guide decision-making, and ensure all activities comply with relevant standards.
  • Analyse data and trends to inform strategic planning and report on the effectiveness of public safety initiatives to senior management and stakeholders.
