Key Responsibilities
As a key community connection for Canada Post, you will ensure the safe and timely delivery that people depend on. Your primary duties will include:
- Projecting a positive and professional image in all face-to-face interactions with customers, representing Canada Post with courtesy and respect.
- Safely and efficiently sorting, collecting, and delivering mail items on your designated routes.
- Taking ownership of your route by learning the local infrastructure, including roads, customer locations, and delivery receptacles.
- Ensuring all mail is kept secure while in your possession and processing essential services like Change of Address Notifications.
- Operating your personal vehicle responsibly in all weather and traffic conditions, maintaining the high safety standards we’re known for.
- Safely lifting and carrying mail items weighing up to 50 lbs (22.7 kg) as part of your daily duties.
Qualifications
We are looking for a responsible individual with the right tools and attitude for the road. The successful candidate must have:
- A valid, permanent provincial driver’s license (Class 5 or G) and a consistently safe driving record.
- A personal vehicle that meets our essential safety and capacity requirements, including an automatic transmission, power windows, a minimum 50 cu ft cargo capacity, and the ability to safely install a Canada Post identification sign.
- Reliable, well-maintained automobile liability insurance and a willingness to inform your provider of your vehicle’s business use.
- Strong independence, organizational skills, and a genuine enjoyment of working with the public.
- The physical capability to perform the duties of the role, including regular lifting.
- French language skills are essential for this position, as it is located in Quebec.
- Residence within 75 km of the Saint-Ambroise Post Office is preferred, ensuring you can respond reliably to on-call shifts.
