Key Responsibilities

As a Tool and Die Maker at Eberhard, you will be entrusted with the creation and care of the precision tooling that drives our manufacturing. Your core duties will include:

  • Assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting, and performing complex repairs on production tooling and dies.
  • Machining raw materials into finished dies and fixtures using various tool room equipment with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on dies to maximize production readiness and minimize downtime.
  • Reading and interpreting detailed blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan machining sequences and operations.
  • Measuring, marking, and scribing metal stock, and verifying all dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Maintaining accurate logs and records of all die maintenance and repair activities.
  • Participating in tool design, prototype production, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Adhering to all ISO requirements and safety protocols.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified professional with a strong foundational skill set and a problem-solving mindset. The requirements include:

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proven ability to operate all standard Tool Room equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM, etc.).
  • Expertise in reading and understanding complex blueprints and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of heat-treating procedures for tool steels.
  • Ability to create basic detail prints of die sections and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong mathematical skills for performing computations involving fractions, percentages, and ratios.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • A Journeyman’s card or equivalent apprenticeship is a strong plus.
  • Computer skills, crane, and forklift experience are advantageous.
