We are a new, dedicated after-hours emergency clinic being established in Ōtaki to support the local community and veterinary practices on the Kapiti Coast. Our mission is to deliver exceptional, compassionate urgent care outside of regular business hours. We are building a small, close-knit team of professionals who value excellence, collaboration, and a supportive work environment. Your Role in Our Clinic

As a vital member of our emergency team, you will be at the heart of our operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing high-quality nursing care across triage, treatment, anaesthesia monitoring, and critical patient support.
  • Delivering clear, empathetic communication with pet owners during stressful situations.
  • Working collaboratively with our experienced emergency veterinarians to ensure the best possible patient outcomes.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of clinic protocols and systems as we grow.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and well-stocked clinical environment.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a qualified nurse with the right blend of skill and heart. The essentials for this role are:

  • A recognised Diploma or Degree in Veterinary Nursing (NZ-qualified or an equivalent international qualification).
  • Clinical nursing experience; prior emergency or critical care experience is advantageous but not essential we are committed to providing comprehensive training.
  • A resilient, positive attitude and a genuine empathy for both animals and their owners.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work a rotating roster covering evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • You must be a New Zealand permanent resident or citizen to apply.
