Amarr, part of ASSA ABLOY, is looking for a Warehouse Associate in Sterling Heights who isn’t afraid of hard work, heavy lifting, and staying active from start to finish. You’ll be unloading incoming product (50-75 lbs, mostly by hand), pulling orders for customers, loading trucks, and making deliveries in a 26-foot box truck when needed. What You’ll Be Doing
- Unload and Inspect Incoming Product:Â Product arrives, and you’ll be there to unload it mostly by hand, with consistent lifting of 50-75 lbs. You’ll inspect for damage and make sure everything’s accounted for.
- Pull, Stage, and Load Customer Orders:Â Get orders ready for pickup or delivery, staging them efficiently and loading them safely.
- Provide Excellent Customer Service: When customers come to pick up, you’ll be the one helping them. Friendly, helpful, and professional—that’s the Amarr way.
- Make Deliveries in a 26-Foot Box Truck:Â As needed, you’ll get behind the wheel and deliver product to customers, representing the company on the road.
- Assist with Inventory and Damage Control:Â Help keep inventory accurate and identify damaged product before it becomes a problem.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Age and License:Â Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.
- Physical Capability:Â This role requires heavy, repetitive lifting of 50-75 lbs and constant movement throughout the shift. If you’re not comfortable with that, this isn’t the role for you.
- DOT Requirements:Â Must pass all DOT requirements, including physical exam, background screening, and an MVR that meets Amarr driver standards.
- Language:Â Must be able to read and speak English per DOT guidelines.
- Steady Employment History:Â Demonstrated history of reliable, steady employment.
- Team Player:Â You believe in working together as a team and doing what needs to be done, even if it’s not strictly in your job description.
- Long-Term Mindset:Â We’re looking for people who want to be with us for the long haul, not just a few months.
Schedule and Pay
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm, with occasional overtime
- Pay Rate: $20.00–$22.00 per hour, based on skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications
- Additional Compensation:Â Driving bonuses and target bonuses available
