In this critical role, you will be directly responsible for fabricating and welding complex pressure vessels and chilled water systems that keep U.S. Navy vessels operational around the globe.  Key Responsibilities

You will be tasked with some of the most demanding and precise fabrication work in the industry, adhering to strict military codes.

Your core duties will include:

  • Performing code-standard welding (SMAW, FCAW, GTAW) in all positions on ferrous and non-ferrous metals for pressure vessels and complex piping.
  • Reading and interpreting complex isometric drawings, digital 3-D models, and military welding symbols.
  • Laying out, fitting, and assembling subassemblies from the ground up, often creating your own layouts from center lines.
  • Preparing materials using grinding, bead blasting, and operating carbon arc or plasma arc gouging equipment.
  • Conducting repair welding and meticulously cleaning and dressing all welds to meet exacting Navy Welding Standards.

Qualifications

This role has non-negotiable requirements due to the sensitive and critical nature of the work.

  • Mandatory Certification: Must pass a Navy Military Code Standard 2” diameter pipe test in the 6G position using E7018 filler material to be hired.
  • A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional welding experience with SMAW, FCAW, and GTAW in all positions.
  • Proficiency with basic mathematics, tape measures, levels, hand tools, and working from complex prints and sketches.
  • The physical ability to perform continuous, strenuous work, including moving heavy materials and working in challenging positions.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this government contract.
