Who We Are

Catering Industries Pty Ltd is a leading provider of contracted hospitality services across Australia. We specialize in catering, cleaning, and laundry for the health and aged care, education, government, corporate, and resources sectors. With over 1,800 personnel across various operations, we’re a family-owned business that’s been growing for over 45 years. Our people are our backbone, and their passion and dedication have driven our success. We emphasize a culture of service excellence built on four core values: CARE, COMMITMENT, INTEGRITY, and TRUST.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Providing meal service to elderly residents: You’ll help serve meals with care and respect, making sure each resident has a positive dining experience.
  • Cleaning and setting up: You’ll clean serveries, set up the kitchen and dining room, and make sure everything is ready for meal times.
  • Plating meals and washing dishes: In the main kitchen, you’ll help plate meals and keep up with dishwashing to support the chefs.
  • Preparing salads and sandwiches: You’ll assist with basic food preparation as needed.
  • Supporting functions: When there are special events, you’ll help with function setup and clear down.
  • Assisting the Chef and Chef Manager: You’ll help with day-to-day tasks as required, keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
  • Food and beverage service: You may also assist with serving drinks and other items to residents.
  • Completing quality assurance documents: You’ll adhere to and complete necessary paperwork to maintain quality standards.

What You’ll Need

  • A current Federal Police Check or willingness to obtain one.
  • Reliability and punctuality. Showing up on time matters.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines. A busy kitchen moves fast, and you’ll need to keep up.
  • Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff, and clients. Kindness and dignity are essential.
  • The ability to support the chefs and the team in a busy kitchen. You’re there to help, and a team player attitude goes a long way.
  • Well-presented appearance and good customer service skills. You represent the kitchen when interacting with residents.
  • Access to own transport. You’ll need a reliable way to get to the facility.
  • Aged Care experience is desirable but not necessary. If you have it, great. If not, we’re still interested in the right person.

What You’ll Get

  • Competitive pay at $25.85-hour plus super for Monday to Friday shifts.
  • Weekend and public holiday loadings as per the Hospitality Award.
  • Flexible weekly hours between 20 and 38 hours depending on your availability and the roster.
  • Shifts available Monday to Sunday between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM-you can choose what works for you.
  • Comprehensive training to make sure you’re confident and capable in your role.
  • Staff Benefits program with access to over 100+ retail discounts.
  • The chance to work for a family-owned business that values its people and has been growing for over 45 years.
