As a trusted partner of the Queenstown Lakes District Council, we care for the region’s parks, playgrounds, and public spaces, helping to make our community an even better place to live and visit. In this role, you’ll be responsible for rubbish collection and disposal, cleaning public amenities such as barbeques and bus stops, and general maintenance and cleaning of public bathrooms across the district. Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Team Manager, you’ll play an essential role in keeping the Queenstown Lakes District’s public facilities clean, safe, and welcoming.

Perform rubbish collection and disposal across public areas, ensuring bins are emptied and waste is properly managed.
Clean and maintain public amenities including barbeques, bus stops, and public bathrooms to high standards of hygiene and presentation.
Conduct general maintenance and cleaning tasks as required to keep facilities in good working order.
Work outdoors in a physically active role, moving between sites across the Queenstown Lakes District.
Follow all health and safety procedures, adhering to company policies and maintaining a safe work environment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to the highest standard.

Qualifications and Experience

We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a love for the outdoors, and a commitment to safety. Previous experience is preferred but not essential—what matters most is your willingness to learn and get stuck in.

Essential Requirements:

A full, clean driver’s licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
The desire to work in an outdoor, physical role a good level of fitness is required.
A high health and safety awareness with a commitment to adhering to company policies and procedures.
An awesome work ethic, self-motivation, and the ability to work well within a team.
In accordance with the Company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy, the successful candidate will be required to undergo and pass a pre-employment drug test.

Preferred (But Not Essential):

Previous experience in a similar role or environment.
