Key Responsibilities

You’ll be out on site daily, working alongside experienced tradespeople and contributing to a variety of projects across the Waikato.

• Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of a wide range of fencing types timber, post and rail, metal, and wire fencing
• Support general construction activities, including site preparation, mixing concrete, moving materials, and assisting trades
• Operate power tools and hand tools safely and competently under supervision
• Keep work sites clean, organised, and free of hazards throughout the day
• Follow all health and safety protocols without exception—everyone goes home safe
• Work collaboratively with the crew to meet project deadlines and maintain our high standards of workmanship

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with some basic experience and a genuine willingness to learn and contribute.

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Previous experience as a labourer in construction, fencing, or a similar hands-on trade
• Basic knowledge of construction methods and the ability to follow instructions accurately
• Physical fitness and stamina for manual work in all weather conditions
• A positive, team-first attitude and good communication skills
• A valid driver’s licence and reliable transport to get to our Ngaruawahia yard and sites

It’s a bonus if you can:

• Read and interpret basic construction plans and drawings
• Operate a tractor, post driver, or excavator (we’re always keen to utilise existing skills)
• Hold a Site Safe passport or other relevant health and safety certifications
