Whether you’re a school leaver or someone looking to switch into a trade that actually pays off, this is where you start. No experience? No problem. We’re an established Auckland-based civil crew specialising in drainage and infrastructure work across the wider region, from South Auckland through to Waikato and North Auckland. Key Responsibilities

This is hands-on, physical work. You’ll be learning on the job alongside experienced drainlayers.

  • Assist the drainlaying team with all aspects of pipe installation, from site setup through to backfilling
  • Drive the tractor and move materials, equipment, and pipes around site as needed
  • Mix concrete, handle tools, and support the crew with general labouring tasks
  • Keep the site clean, organised, and safe no one likes tripping over offcuts
  • Learn to measure, cut, and join pipes to specification under supervision
  • Winter means mud. You’ll leave most days wet, dirty, and tired but you’ll know you earned your pay

Qualifications

We’re looking for attitude first, experience second.

You must have:

  • A full NZ driver’s licence and your own reliable vehicle to get to and from site (work locations vary daily across South Auckland, Waikato, and North Auckland)
  • Punctuality and a clean attendance record—we start early and we need people we can count on
  • Physical fitness and genuine comfort with hard manual labour in all weather conditions
  • The ability to follow instructions and take direction without attitude
  • A drug-free status and willingness to pass pre-employment screening
  • NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa

You’ll be a great fit if you:

  • Have some labouring experience (civil, drainage, or construction) but we’re also open to motivated entry-level applicants
  • Are a quick learner with good initiative you see what needs doing and get on with it
  • Work well in a team and don’t need constant supervision
  • Are keen to progress into a drainlayer or operator role long-term
